The Importance of Fellowship

About two weeks ago I met the pastor of a church that is down the street from where I live. We talked a bit and he invited me to attend his Sunday service. Turns out I could not make it, but I ran into him again when I was walking my dog today. His church is of the denomination, Church of God in Christ.

I am not officially a member of any church. I started The Promise Online Baptist Church website in November 2018 with the intent of creating an Online Church.  I just started back working on it and I'm fired up.  Back then I was visiting Good Shepard Baptist in the North Churchill section of Richmond. If you don't have a church home, it's important to fellowship with a church or visit a few churches to get an idea of how they conduct their services and to evaluate the Pastor of the church.

Although The Promise is an online church, I want it's visitors to check out other brick and mortar churches. If they give feedback it can be helpful for my website.

I John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

There is no valley too deep for Jesus to reach. Call out to Him and he will comfort you. Believe in Him, and he will replenish you. Fall on your knees and worship Him, and He will lift you up. Kirk Franklin - Brokenhearted (Reprise)

Listen to the words Kirk Franklin speaks in this song carefully. I believe we have to repent on a regular basis even if we are saved. Today's Bible Study was God Demands Repentance. This is so true. Pastor Sherman who taught the lesson said that if we were perfect we would not need good. And I know he means we need God / Jesus every day of our lives. I have been slow to act. I started this blog back in 2018 and I wish I would have worked hard on it every day since then. I ask Jesus to forgive me for not putting Him first and not doing what I was called to do, which is to create an online site where people can come together as Christians and uplift Christ.

Hello, My name is Brother Derrick W. Jackson and I am ecstatic and proud to show you my social media church / Online Church.  I am a new teacher of the word(Please note I have not been ordained nor do I have a minister's license but I have answered the call to spread the word) I am not new to the church and worshipping Jesus Christ.  I'm his human clay that he is molding every day, in other words I'm not perfect and have made a lot of mistakes that I do not want others to repeat. As the fires burn in California we pray for the victims.  Life shows us all the time that we are not always in control and bad things happen to good people.  A lot of times we scream out, "WHY GOD!!!!"  Several months ago I broke down on Labernum Avenue in Richmond, Virginia screaming, "He plays games with peoples lives!!"  God is not like man and remember he loves you unconditionally. And life does not turn out as we expect it but we know  "his will be done".
